The 4th Traditional Karate World Cup
The Traditional Karate World Cup is an event officially sanctioned by the
International Traditional Karate Federation (ITKF) held every other year.
This year, the Traditional Karate Federation of Poland is again hosting
this important international event for the fourth time on October 6, 2007
at Warsaw, Poland.
This event is a showcase of the high standards and ideals of true Traditional Karate to the public.
Only those 8 women and 8 men who are selected by the ITKF Technical Committee can participate
in this prestigious event. Unlike the World Championships in which the athletes represent their
own countries, the World Cup participants are considered to be the representatives of Traditional
Karate, to demonstrate the high-level techniques and strong spirit. The athletes will compete
under the specially designed ITKF World Cup Tournament System, which requires them to be
well-rounded Traditional Karate practitioners (competing in Kumite, a compulsory Kata and a
personally selected Kata).
